October 2 (Friday) – Hong Kong

October 2 (Friday) – Hong Kong

I actually had a good night’s sleep, even after sleeping half the previous day. Today we walked to the waterfront to see the harbor and skyline. Along the waterfront is an avenue of the stars containing plaques in the pavement for Chinese film and TV stars. Quite by accident we found the stars for Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.

We stumbled across a double decked tour bus and bought tickets. Today we did the Kowloon Peninsula.

Tomorrow we’ll take the ferry to Hong Kong Island and do the loop there. After lunch we both took an all afternoon nap. The weather is hot and humid and between the weather and our colds we just don’t have any stamina.

After dinner at TGI Fridays we walked to the waterfront again. We chatted for a while with a couple of young men from the US. They were on holiday from their jobs in South Korea where they teach English to elementary children. They had a short laser light show from the tops of the sky scrapers on Hong Kong Island.
